Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Witheridge Farm, we hope you enjoy your stay. Please find below the terms and conditions applicable to our site.
Our operating certificate is issued by the Caravan and Motorhome Club under Paragraph 5 of the First Schedule of The Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act, 1960. Our CL operates by the following Caravan and Motorhome Club rules:
Only members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club on producing their membership cards may be accommodated on the CL, for the purposes of recreation.
Not more than 5 caravans, motor caravans or trailer tents may be stationed on the CL at any time.
No caravan or motor caravan shall be allowed to stay for more than 28 consecutive days.
No tent camping to be allowed on site (only a small single-berth pup tent ancillary to the main outfit can be accepted).
We will only take a pre booking for a one night stay five days before your arrival date
A minimum three night stay is required over a Bank Holiday
When making a booking we will require:-
your Caravan and Motorhome Club membership number and we will check your current membership status with the Club before confirming your booking. If you cease to be a member of the Club, you will not be allowed to stay here and any payment you have made will be forfeited unless we have enough time to re-let the pitch that you have booked.
a telephone number, in case we need to contact you urgently
name and contact details, for all members of your party. This is a legal requirement for Test and Trace
the type of unit you have so we can reserve the correct type of pitch for you
an email address so we can confirm your booking
notification of extra cars
We will do our best to accommodate special needs or disabilities. Please explain your needs at time of booking in case we are required to make special arrangements.
We encourage all guests to use the voluntary NHS Test and Trace App to register their attendance to our site. If you do not have the ability to download the App we will continue to use your booking details should we be asked to provide contact information by an authorised body.
Fees & Deposits
With effect from 1st January 2021 our pitch fee for caravans and motorhomes is £16 per outfit per night, including electric hook-up. (The pitch fee assumes 2 adults and one car per unit) Awnings are charged at £2 per night.
A deposit, the equivalent of a two night stay, will be required for all bookings payable by cheque or bank transfer. Details about how and when to pay your deposit will be supplied in your booking confirmation email. Your booking is not secure until your deposit has been received and acknowledged by email.
Payment, Refunds & Cancellations
To protect ourselves from Coronavirus, our preferred payment method is by Online Bank Transfer. Cash or cheques will only be accepted if you are unable to use Online Banking.
Due to Coronavirus unpredictability we require payment, in full, 7 days prior to arrival.
If you choose to leave early, your pitch fee is not refundable or transferable (in practice, our experience has been the opposite – many people ask to extend their stay here making it longer than their original booking).
During busy periods, in the event of a booking reduction or request to move your booking to another date, and we have turned people away, if we are unable to rebook your pitch, you may be asked to pay the balance. If payment has already been made a refund will not be given.
If you have paid us and WE are required to close our site due to any kind of lockdown, we will refund you.
If YOU are unable to travel here or need to leave early (for whatever reason including being required to self-isolate), refunds, or transfer of booking, will be at our discretion.
If you need to cancel your booking please notify us as soon as possible so that we may re-offer the vacancy.
If a pitch has not been taken by 8pm, unless we have been notified in advance, we will cancel that nights booking. If there has still been no contact with us by 11am the following day we will cancel the rest of the booking. Any deposits or payments will not be refunded.
Two or more outfits booking together will be required to pay the balance of their pitch fee, in full, 1 month before arrival. This is non-refundable and non-transferable. (Our experience is that large groups are more likely to cancel if one of the group falls ill, then the impact on our business is greater than that of an individual cancellation.)
Any deposits already ‘rolled forward’ will no longer be subject to our cancellation policy. If cancelled a second time the deposit will be forfeit, regardless of the notice given, unless covid related.
Due to adverse weather conditions we may have to cancel bookings. In the rare event of this happening we will give as much notice as possible. Any deposits or payments will either be refunded, or moved to another date.
Events such as vehicle breakdown, illness or inclement weather etc which may result in delayed arrival, curtailment or cancellation of your stay are not the responsibility of Witheridge Farm CL and therefore we advise you to seek appropriate travel insurance.
Any refunds may incur an administration charge and are at our discretion.
Arrival & Departure
Phone the house on 01934 744037 on arrival and someone will come out and show you where to pitch, where everything is located and explain the best routes to walk to the village.
Arrive after 13:00 and vacate your pitch before 12:00 on your day of departure. We do not currently allow earlier arrivals or later departures. It is important that you depart no later than mid-day, ideally earlier, to allow us to prepare for the arrival of our next guests, including sanitising taps, electric hook-ups and other touch-points.
We are an adults only site, only guests over 18 years old are permitted to stay.
Dogs and other animals
We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per outfit. You are required to keep your animal(s) on a lead at all times and clean up after them. DO NOT put dog waste in the Red Biffa General Waste Bin use the Green Bin provided.
Chickens and Ducks
Please be aware we have free range chickens and ducks on site. They are allowed to roam where they please and consequently you might find some poop around. We try our best to clear up after them but this is not always possible. If you have a problem please tell us. We ask that you please DO NOT feed them because they have a special diet.
We can only dispose of your everyday domestic waste. You must not leave broken items (e.g. chairs, electrical goods) or large packaging (e.g. cardboard boxes from new items) as we will be charged extra for them to be disposed of. Use the Red Biffa Bin for your day to day general rubbish. This is emptied every 2 weeks on a Tuesday. Dog Waste must be bagged and placed in the Green Bin that’s labelled DOG POO.
Over the last few years we have noticed members are not lifting ground sheets on grass during their stay. This has resulted in bald patches on the grass areas which is difficult to repair especially early in the season. Future visitors would prefer to sit on grass rather than a muddy patch. For this reason we have decided not to allow groundsheets on the grass.
Visitors are permitted on site between 10am and 9pm provided we have advance notification and the relevant ‘Track and Trace’ paperwork is completed. No more than 2 visitors allowed per unit and they must be over 18 years old. The latest Government Guidelines must be followed. We have the right to ask visitors to leave the site at any time.
If you have been allocated a hard stand please park your car on the gravel and not on the grass.
If you have been allocated a grass pitch only use the designated entrance to drive on and off the grass. During prolonged bad weather we may ask for the cars to be kept off the grass, if this happens we will show you where to park.
CLs are intended for recreational purposes and our expectation is that guests bring one car as the towing vehicle. Large motorhomes occasionally bring a car as a ‘runaround’ vehicle. If you wish to bring more than one car, please arrange this with us in advance. We will require the registration numbers of the additional cars so that we know “who’s who” on site.
We do not allow charging of electric cars as it would not be economic, based on our low nightly pitch-fee.
We have a mixture of 16amp and 10amp hook-ups and charge a flat-rate pitch fee inclusive of ‘reasonable use’ of electricity inside caravans or motorhomes.
We do not permit charging of electric cars, using electricity to heat awnings or the use of equipment outside the caravan or motorhome as we believe this is not ‘reasonable use’.
For economy and fire safety, switch van heaters off unless you are on site.
In line with Caravan and Motorhome Club rules, we reserve the right to refuse acceptance or to terminate the visit of any person whose conduct, or that of their animals, is detrimental to us or to our other visitors.
Loss & Damage
We will not be held responsible for any loss or damage, however caused, to your property or vehicles or any injury to you or your visitors whilst staying on our CL.
We sometimes take photographs of the CL for our Facebook page or website. Please let us know if you would prefer that we don’t include you.
The flying of drones from our CL and/or taking of photos/videos of our CL site or private property by drone is NOT permitted without our prior consent

We reserve the right to change these conditions from time to time as we see fit and your continued use of the site will signify your acceptance of any adjustment to these terms.
